Moody Beach, Summer 2012

I spent a great amount of time at Moody Beach over the Summer of 2012, living in my mothers beach house there. I walked the shoreline most everyday, at least once. I always carried a camera (iPhone, point and shoot, dslr) and found a fascination with the delicate forms of seaweed. My mother grew up walking these same sands where I now found great comfort.

Love Letters from Camp

Acclaimed photographer Paul Caponigro told me one day while in his dark room to shoot from my heart. I thought it was corny. It WAS corny. Then I settled into the deep woods and riverways of western Maine and shot from my heart. These are visual love letters taken at my cabin in the Maine woods for my love, Rachel.

Losing You (click here to view images)

This body of work was born in the spring of 2011. I first traveled to Joshua Tree National Park and Death Valley National Park in California then a month later returned to Death Valley NP to complete the unfinished work. Being in the middle of organizing my life to complete a gender shift from male to female, this work reflects the thoughts of my life that lead me to that point in time.

A Quiet Mind (click here to view images)

This body of work was created from my first trip to Namibia in 2009. It was born from the feeling of having so much going on in your head, so many competing thoughts and memories that all you want to do with the internal chaos is make a little sense of it and have A Quiet Mind.
